Trail Rides

At the Brighton Riding Stable we offer horseback trail rides year-round 'weather permitting'.  Come take a peaceful ride through the serene bridle trails at Brighton Recreation State Park.  We have horseback trail rides for all ages, hand led horseback trail rides for families with children under 8 years old and hour long trail rides for everyone over 8 years old.  We do have a weight restriction of 220 lbs as our horses can only carry up to 20% of their total body weight. 

We do not canter or gallop on any of our trail rides.  All riders under 18 need a release form signed by a Parent.  You can find the release form at the bottom of this page.

Our standard 1 hour Horseback Trail Ride is easy enough for beginners ages 8 to adult, but enjoyable enough for the more experienced.  This trail ride is a walk only with some difficult terrain.  Must be 8 years and older and a weight restriction of 220lbs is enforced.  

$55 per rider.

Call to Reserve.

A $25.00 deposit per rider may be required to book this ride.  Deposit is refundable if the Stable cancels the ride due to bad weather.  The customer may cancel the ride 24 hrs prior to the ride time for a refund of deposit. No refunds for cancellations within 24 hours of ride time. No show riders do not receive a refund. If you get on the horse and change your mind there is no refund.

For the full trail experience for riders who want a little more time in the saddle.

 the 2 hour ride is available weekdays, with some availability on weekends. 

For this ride it is best if kids are12 years and older and for adults who are in good enough shape for a longer ride with steeper hills and terrain that is a bit more challenging.  Minimum 2 riders. 

$110 per rider.

A $50.00 deposit per rider may be required to book this ride. 

This ride is offered mid May to Nov 14th.

This trail ride is for families with cowpokes ages 4 - 8 that are not ready to control their horses on the trail.  Families will enjoy a scenic ride down the trail and through woods.   

• 30 minute ride for $45 each hand led rider  and $40each for riders who can ride on their own (adults and older kids).    

Please note: We do not do not offer this ride for more than 30 minutes as your trail guides for this   experience will be walking on foot over difficult terrain

Pony Rides are offered for the young cowpokes not ready for the trail.  Any age 2 and up are welcome to take a ride on our kid-friendly ponies. 5 minute corral ride. $10 per rider

Pony rides are scheduled between 10 am and 4 pm but please call to check availibility as we sometimes are busy with other groups.

Please make sure to have parents of all riders under 18 yrs old sign release forms prior to riding.

Please download form in advance if legal guardian is not able to join rider at the stable.
